Malaysian Couple Celebrates 33 Years of Love and Adventure with Epic Motorcycle Journeys

Datin Noraliza Abd Rahman and Datuk Taha Ahmad, a Malaysian couple aged 56, have spent over three decades exploring the world on motorcycles. Their shared passion for riding has deepened their bond, taking them on countless adventures across Asia and beyond.

Their journey began in the mid-90s, when they first rode to Golok, Thailand, on a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 shortly after marriage. Over time, their love for motorcycling grew, leading them to switch to touring bikes like the Honda Gold Wing GL1800 and BMW R 1250 GS Adventure for longer, more comfortable rides.

Each year, the couple embarks on at least one long-distance trip, often accompanied by friends from their biking community. They frequently visit Thailand, which they favor for its excellent roads, affordable accommodations, and delicious food. Other notable adventures include riding through the Himalayas, crossing the Khardung La pass in India, and exploring Pakistan’s border regions.

With their daughters now managing the family business, Taha and Noraliza enjoy more freedom to travel. Their upcoming plans include a Balkan ride and a hiking trip to Nepal’s Annapurna Base Camp. They dream of exploring Africa and even riding to Makkah for Umrah in the future.

The couple emphasizes careful preparation and safety in all their travels. Taha handles bike maintenance, while Noraliza takes charge of packing and planning. They encourage new riders to start small, stressing that resilience is key to mastering the open road. As they continue their adventures, Taha and Noraliza hope their daughters will one day share their passion for exploration.
